S.S. Moyie through strange eyes
The picturesque community of Kaslo (on the Main Lake), houses Kootenay Lake’s most spectacular artifact: the S.S. Moyie. These images present my peculiar interpretation of this beautifully restored sternwheeler. These images are created from data containing everything possible to see from a particular point (360° horizontal, 180° vertical). Of the many mappings that will render a sphere onto a flat surface, I chose ones which please my eye. See a discussion of the creation of such images.
Some of the scenes are also presented as navigable views.
Bow I remember standing on this same spot when I rode the Moyie up the Lake as a child.
Wheelhouse From the wheelhouse, one can look in every direction, including down the stairs to the other decks.
Top deck From the top deck, one can look down on the bow and up to the wheelhouse.
Navigable view of the top deck.
