Play of Light

A rainbow is seen in individual drops of guttation on the grass—yes, guttation, not dew; they are different although often confused.

Of all the topics included in this paean to Kootenay Lake, this is my favourite. The play of light in the air and water is of endless fascination to me. Of course, light is involved in all of photography, so the selection of images here is a matter of emphasis. Now and then, a picture will be used twice, when it can illustrate related ideas.
